I’ll dribble out the photos from Haiti over the next two weeks as I work my way through them. Here is the first.
These are two of the farmers we are working with in the remote community of Deslandes in the Artibonite Valley. They had been working all day in the sun with nothing to drink. We brought coconuts full of juice and they were deeply thankful.
These gentlemen work corn, beans and sweet potatoes. We are doing an information exchange with them to increase soil health, crop diversity, income and food security using Permaculture techniques.
This project needs your support. It costs me about $1500 for a 10-14 day trip down to work with the farmers and their children. You can support our work by purchasing one of my photos here (100% of profits go to this project) or via an outright donation here.
I will post a roundup of the trip and more photos here over the weekend.
I hope to go again in September 2011. If you can, please kick in.
