A Finnish Photographer – My Shot of the Day – Aug 20, 2014

I have no idea who this woman is. Just another Finnish photographer. I REALLY hope she doesn’t mind that I took this picture.

After a meal of fried muikku I went down to the the Söderfjärden Meteor Crater to find some cranes. I couldn’t find them however…until sunset when they suddenly appeared out of the wheat and rye and headed out to sea, all black against the sunset.  There was no chance for a shot.

While I was waiting a car pulled up and two women got out.  They were clearly a little tipsy. Both smoked obsessively. And they walked out into a field where the older woman suddenly – and quickly – changed clothes and positioned herself up against a giant bale of straw.  The women in this photograph got her equipment ready and began shooting portraits.

I have NO idea if she was a woman I would find interesting but there she was….a woman out in a field…sunset…and she has a camera….my heart skipped a beat.
