My Shot of the Day: Little Blue Butterfly

I’ll say straight up that I’m not totally happy with this little blue butterfly picture. There is too much movement, its a bit out of focus and yet it still narrows in on these little, tiny creatures that were never still.

Pictures of butterflies can be spectacular – if you can catch them.  I’ve gotten some good ones over time. It requires alot of patience.

At the edge of Yerba Buena Creek near Taos, dozens and dozens of these little guys congregated on the moist soil. I sat for a good while trying to get the right shot.

Looks like I’ll have to go back.
