My Shot(s) of the Day: Early Snowstorm
Friday evening went to cold rain before dinner. Soon after it started to snow. By the morning there was half an inch in the center of Taos and several inches in the high country. Yesterday the kids and I hiked a short ways up into the Colombine-Hondo. The snow was so wet and heavy that hundreds of trees were snapped and hundreds more were bent over and held down under the icy white. The trail was like a tunnel of arched trees. The NM State Patrolman at the trailhead told us that a hunter was trapped on the ridge by the storm and they had lost contact with him over night.
