It has been one of those years in which, if I didn't have any photographs,…

My Shot of the Day: Fire Boats House
Here is the last shot from my five weeks in Finland and France. From here on out I will get back to my goal of posting the photo on the day I took it.
I spent most of my final day (was that really just the day before yesterday?) on the train from Helsinki to back to Vasa. The sky was clear in Helsinki but the further north we went the darker the sky grew. It was spitting snow in Vasa. The ice out in the Gulf was gone but the inner harbors were, for the most part, iced up. I spent the afternoon wandering around aimlessly before downing a beer and drifting off to sleep in an odd little apple hotel (more on that later). Just after dawn, I was in the air, heading south to Stockholm.
Here, an old fire boats garage sinks into the inner harbor near Palosari (oddly, “fire island”) in Vasa.
