My Shot of the Day: Ice Fishing. Vasa, Finland
There is plenty of light but not exactly sun here in early spring. The wind is howling off the Gulf of Bothnia stirring up the snow and cutting visibility. All the bulldozers, bobcats and dump trucks are working around the clock to clear the grey, dog-pooped filled ice from the roads and sidewalks.
Photo : This spot must be top for ice fishing Finland in the winter. Two winters ago when I was here the kids and I watched a never-ending stream of hearty souls patiently working this spot. First thing I saw when getting here yesterday was this tough, well-dressed and hopefully semi-drunk old boy plugging away.
I slept for 12 hours last night, praise the lord, and spent the morning stretching while the kids snoozed.
