Kvarken Project: VOTE for the Photograph You Want & See the Faces of the People I Met
So. I’ve made my way through a significant chunk of the photographs I took in the Kvarken World Heritage site last month and feel prepared enough to offer the following four photographs to choose from for rewards to the people who donated to this research.
Please VOTE for one of these pictures by naming your choice in the comments below.

“Valsorarna Lighthouse”

“Finland’s Island Life”
“Kvarken Sunset”

“Ritgrund and Seagulls”
For the Fifty-five (!!!) amazing folks who helped me do the Kvarken research via some very generous donations, I promised those who donated $10 or more a high quality (nice enough to frame) thank you card with one of these photos on it….and a kiss in lipstick from me….Hey, I PROMISED! For those who donated $100 or more I promised a large signed print from the Kvarken archipelago.
Please go ahead and PLACE YOUR VOTE either for the card and print image in the comment section below.
A few things to note:
1. ALL of these photographs are for sale via my account at Fine Art America. So if you’re interested in all of them, pop on over and place an order!
2. For these images, the large print will end up sized about 24×12”. It will vary slightly depending on the photo chosen.
3. In the end everyone will get the same print. WINNER TAKES ALL! For logistics reasons I won’t be able to send folks the print that they vote for…but just the print that wins. So if there is one print you REALLY want, get a few other people to vote for it!
4. If you havent yet, please email me your mailing address! huajatollas@hotmail.com
Faces of Finnish Eco Tourism
My first outside article from the trip has been published at Vrai Magazine where I am a contributing editor. The article is a series of seven portraits of just some of the amazing people I met while in the Kvarken World Heritage Site.
My visit to the Kvarken World Heritage Site was not only to experience the sea eagles and rich bird life, the sea-side forests, the butterflies and berries, the skerries and the fishing….but also to get to know the individuals moving forward with a Kvarken brand of eco-tourism. My plan is to make the Kvarken a key center-point to my multi-year study of the rewilding of Europe. The birth and growth of the European wilderness movement and what it means for both ecology and culture and economy. The seven amazing people in this photo essay are some of those at the birth of eco-tourism in the Kvarken World Heritage Site……
