My Shot(s) of the Day: Three Macro Shots in Black and White
I’ve been playing around with some Zeikos Macro Filter Kit lenses. These are not a true macro lens (WAY out of my price range at the moment) but rather a very affordable alternative to play with – an obviously get some nice images.
I love the fine detail and amazing revelations macro photography can offer. All those intricate little details of nature and the world that can only be found by taking the time to observe – up close and personal.
Overall, I think these are good lenses considering the price. Expect some distortion and fringing. As per a website recommendation I set the camera at F8 and got some much more sharp images – especially with the +10.
I’m finding it very challenging to find the right distance, get close enough and still not shade out the subject. I’m not ready to review this product yet but later this week I will write up a pretty extensive review of the OlloClip of iPhone 4. I think it is a pretty interesting tool for the lightweight traveler like me.
All three of these shots were made this weekend in Taos County, New Mexico.
