Must-visit Turkish Destinations for Beginners

When planning a vacation in Europe, what usually comes to your mind? Right now, you’re probably thinking about visiting Germany, Switzerland, France, or Italy, among others. However, have you ever thought about travelling to Turkey?

A lot of people do not know this but, the country is rich in picturesque landscapes and rich culture. It may not be an extremely large country, but they offer a lot of sights to see. The historic cities, beaches, and wonderful countryside will surely add magic to your vacation.  To make your first trip to Turkey more fun and exciting, here’s a post that lists down the must-visit tourist destination in the country.

1. Ankara

This is the country’s capital city. As such, it’s sprawling with modernism and culture. Government building, commercial districts, universities, and foreign embassies are all found here. In the center of Ankara is the Anatolia region where you can find various restaurants, bars, and hotels. The city is also known as a vital transportation hub because it connects travelers to other popular destinations across Turkey. Even though Ankara is a modern city, it doesn’t mean that they lack arts and culture. In fact, they have several museums, one of which is the Museum of Anatolian Civilzations.

2. Antalya

Antalya is a vibrant city that is located along the picturesque Turkish Riviera on the Mediterranean coastline. Since it’s near the beach, you can expect that the place is teeming with resorts and bars. Aside from swimming and sailing in the beach, you can also take a hike on the lush mountains nearby, or poke through the ancient ruins and learn more about the country’s history. This is an ideal destination for couples and families who want to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

3. Mamaris

This is one of the most popular resorts in the country. Once you step on this place, you’ll instantly be drawn to the picture-perfect landscape, pine-covered mountains, white beaches, rustic architecture, and turquoise waters. It is also located in the Turkis Riviera. There’s a stunning cruise port where you can play water sports, party, or eat in one of the fancy restaurants.

4. Side

This is a port located in the ancient Pamphylia. Today, it’s a pleasant town that’s lined with ancient ruins and modern-looking resorts. They also offer a nice view of the white sand beaches.
