Vote for (ME!!) Storyteller of the Year!
I am pleased to announce that I was nominated for two awards by Hostelworld.
First, Around the World in Eighty Years was nominated for overall Storyteller of the Year and second for best Debate article of the year.
Vote for here: Travel Story Awards
You can vote once a day until early January.

Many of you know that this website was started somewhat by accident. It was more of a way to get my resume online during some rough economic times and to show off some of the photos that I thought were somewhat decent.
It has morphed into something far more thanks to the people (YOU) who keep coming back to to read my words and see my photos. It has become a serious pleasure for me to post on this website on a regular basis. I love the discussions that ensue in the comments section – not to mention the Facebook debates that explode here and there. I also love the fact that delivering a product of sorts to a fan base has driven me to improve my skills in both writing and photography.

And so I’ve been able to bring you what I feel like are some pretty decent articles like What Will This Do to My Intestines?, The Tornio River Valley, Majupi, La Media Luna, Fairies and Troglodytes at Lourdes and Living Close to the Land on One Acre.
Then there are the photo essays like One Tuscan Hill, Pueblo Colorado, Seeking Some Sassy Ceviche, A Taste of Costa Rican Wildlife and Magnificent Tuscan Food among others.
There is much more to come!

This website has allowed me to write for magazines, online publications, sell photos and do what I love best…explore the world. Winning this award will help me to continue to post quality content that is free and available to followers of this site. It will also make it more likely that I will be able to continue following my dreams – and make a living doing so!!
The Storyteller of the Year Award is right up top on that link. Scroll down for lots of great content from other websites but be sure to stop at the DEBATE section and drop me a vote there for the article I wrote earlier this year SHOULD FOREIGNERS PAY MORE? DAMN STRAIGHT!
Holy crud has that one caused alot of controversy. More than I would have every imagined. It smells like success!
Please drop in here and place two votes for Jim O’Donnell and Around the World in Eighty Years. Please vote once a day.
Thank you!
